Everything You Need To Know About Lash Lifts

What is a Lash Lift, exactly?

The lash lift is a semi-permanent procedure that works similarly to an eyelash curler. By providing the lashes an outstanding lift with little to no care, lash raising enhances the natural lashes, giving the illusion that they are longer and more defined. Lash lifts can last anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks.

What is the mechanism behind it?

This one takes us all the way back to the 1980s. Remember walking into a salon and smelling someone getting their hair permed? Consider a lash lift to be a perm for your lashes. Perms are made with a chemical solution that alters the texture of your hair (or, in this case, your lashes) to give them a curl. After the perming or lifting solution has been left on for the required period of time, the perming process is stopped using a neutralizing solution.

How long will the lift last?

This is a semi-permanent perming service, although our lashes (like all hair on our bodies) go through a growth cycle, and we lose 1-3 natural lashes per day. As a result, the lash lift will last for as long as your natural lashes. When the mature lashes fall out, new baby lashes will grow in their place, and the lash lift's effects will fade. You'll have enough new growth by 6-8 weeks following your first lift and be ready for another!

What kind of person is a suitable candidate for a lash lift?

Because not everyone is a good candidate for a lash lift, it's crucial to know who is and who should continue with extensions. First, someone who has thick, healthy lashes but wants to make their eyes look open and lovely without the daily effort or damage of a lash curler is a good candidate for the Lash Lift.

Aside from that, lash lifts are a terrific alternative for someone searching for a natural, low-maintenance lash procedure and/or someone who wants to keep wearing mascara.

For the Professional

As a professional, you should be aware of how lash lifts compare to lash extensions in terms of results. Someone with short lashes, for example, may see a photo of a lash lift and believe it is the perfect option for them; it is your job as a professional to explain that the lift will only enhance their natural lashes, and that if they want to get more out of their lashes, a natural lash set may be a better option.
